FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If you can't find the answer you're looking for below, please don't hesitate to e-mail me.

What can hiring you do for me?

Depending on your goal, you can expect to feel significantly fitter, stronger and healthier, rehabilitate an injury or level up in your sport. If you take a look at my client testimonials and case studies, you will see the type of work I complete. If you have a health, performance or sports related goal then I'm your man. If you have an aesthetic goal or are interested in figure competition then there are other skilled coaches in that area to assist you. My areas of expertise and passion lie in performance- what the body can do, not just what it looks like.

What is Strength & Conditioning?

Strength and Conditioning Coaching (S & C) is specific, progressive training aimed at improving a particular facet of fitness. S & C training can help anyone from complete beginners to seasoned athletes to improve their physical performance and be ready for anything life throws at them. This can range from running a marathon for the first time to simply being able to chase the grandchildren around the park! Your training will be determined by your own personal starting point and where you ultimately want to be. I prefer to use science backed, evidence-based methods to carefully and considerately coach my clients to their chosen goal. If you're new to this, don't be put off by the technical speak or mention of athletes (although I do train them too). This is NOT about punishing workouts, but enjoyable challenges in a supportive, non-intimidating, private setting.

Where are you located?

Winwick Quay, Warrington- a couple of minutes from Junction 9 of the M62. From Winwick Road (A49) turn onto Cromwell Avenue (the turning for Ten Pin Bowling/Swim etc) and then turn right onto Calver Road. Harvard Court and my Private Studio are just a little further down on the left - if you've spotted the two red post boxes then drive past them slowly, it's the left turn immediately after them.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Just come wearing comfortable workout clothing and suitable footwear- bring along a small towel and a water bottle. *

* (If you find that you have forgotten something - bottled water, gym towels, an assortment of period products & packs of hair bobbles are available)

Where can I park my car?

Just outside the door to the Private Studio is an allocated parking space with 'Grade1 PT' signage on the space.

Do I need a Gym membership?

No, you can train with me at my Private Studio or Online and I will create the rest of your programme based on wherever else you will be training. This may be at home with no equipment, at home in a 'home gym', a full commercial gym membership or a mixture of both.

I am a complete beginner. Can I work with you?

Yes! One of my absolute favourite things as a coach is working with beginners. My Private Studio is a welcoming and safe space to learn.

I don't live in the UK. Can I work with you?

Yes, you can work with me Online. I deliver 1:1 private personal training sessions to my clients in other parts of the world. Take a look at the services page to find out more.

What is the investment to train with you?

Please take a look at the services page for a pricing list to train at my Private Studio. Online-only training prices vary depending on the level of service required.

Is there a minimum commitment period or can I cancel anytime?

You may cancel anytime. There is no minimum commitment. Payments are made monthly and you can cancel anytime before the next payment is due. I would, however add that making changes to body composition, improving fitness levels or rehabilitation from injury takes time in addition to effort. I would recommend giving any new regime a minimum of 3 months in order to not short-change yourself and your efforts.

How will we communicate with each other?

Outside of our Personal Training sessions you can reach me by phone, text message, WhatsApp, e-mail, or Grade1 PT in app messenger.

I'm not into Technology. Is your App easy to use?

Yes! It's very easy to use. I'll send you a guide to help you install the app, then you can access your programme and get going. There are video demonstrations for every exercise. When you complete a workout you can submit feedback and I can monitor how you're doing outside of our PT sessions.
